Looking to organize a long weekend with the girls in San Antonio? I have a guide for you based on my sister’s most recent bachelorette weekend where we spent the weekend with a mix of fancy/casual, going out/staying in, and fast paced excitement/slow moments. San Antonio has a lot to offer so feel free to pick and choose what works best for your style!

Accommodation

Hotel Emma at Pearl - The Hotel Emma is a beautiful upscale hotel option for those that are looking for luxury and history all in a central location. Located just north of Downtown San Antonio, the hotel has an incredibly helpful staff and beautiful detailed amenities. We chose this hotel because we knew our small group of four liked to take things things slow and we would be sure to get the bang out of our buck. My favorite part of the hotel actually happened to be their in house bar Sternewirth which had an incredible ambiance, lots of cozy seating, great service, and amazing drinks.

Food

Boudro’s on the Riverwalk - Boudro’s was a great place to have our first dinner in San Antonio, but you will have a hard time finding a better prickly pear margarita for the rest of your trip! They had great food and you can’t go wrong with any choice off of their menu. Do be aware if you sit outside on the riverwalk, you might get a visit from a few ducks!

Don’t miss out on the prickly pear margarita!

Legit Ass Meats - This food truck is located about halfway between San Antonio and San Marcos next to a little tavern. Be sure to check their Facebook page to make sure he is open the day you go, but Legit Ass Meats is smoking some really incredible meats that you shouldn’t miss.

Don’t miss out on the brisket & pulled pork!

La Gloria - We stopped at La Gloria because it was right near the hotel and it was a great choice. I loved their chips and salsa and their various types of margaritas! I got the mangonada which is a must and beef tacos that hit the spot. Bonus points for being close to our hotel and having a nice patio with a DJ coming in on Friday night.

Don’t miss out on the mangonada margarita!

Bakery Lorraine - We stumbled upon Bakery Lorraine when one of our group members was on the hunt for macarons. It is very cute and aesthetic inside and would be a lovely place to grab a coffee and pastry and sit for a while doing work. I was thrilled to find they had an earl grey macaron (my favorite flavor!) and it was delicious.

Don’t miss out on the earl grey macaron!

Pharm Table - Farm to table restaurants are not always as farm to table as they claim to be, but this one was for sure. The drink menu was exciting and the dishes were flavorful and healthy. We were in need of some vegetables after all the BBQ and Mexican food.

Don’t miss out on anything with short rib!

Box St. All Day - This trendy brunch spot has good food and good vibes. The food is just as Insta worthy as the decor while actually tasting incredible. Grab a drink or two and share some dishes - there is lots to choose from!

Don’t miss out on the hashies and bean & cheese empanadas!

Bars

Be Kind and Rewind - We started the night off at Be Kind and Rewind, which is a fun little spot with lots of photo opportunities. While the music was definitely geared toward a more millennial crowd, people were quick to dance and the place filled up even early in the evening.

The Bonham Exchange - If I could go back to San Antonio just for The Bonham Exchange I would. We didn’t get a chance to see the night really pick up, but this three story LGBT club had amazing music in a great building. Be sure to check their Instagram the day you go for a password so you don’t have to pay a cover!

Attractions

Tower of the Americas - The Tower of America is fun stop if you are looking to fill some time and aren’t afraid of heights.

Riverwalk Cruise - The San Antonio Riverwalk is a must do - especially if you don’t spend all your time at the riverwalk! It only takes about 30 mins.

San Marcos Outlets - We drove out to San Marcos to do some shopping where two outlet malls sit right next to each other. With just about every store you can imagine, it was worth the drive!

Hopscotch Museum - For all of the interactive museums I’ve been to, I would say that the Hopscotch Museum is one of the best ones. It is unique and takes more than just a few minutes to go through. Lot’s of fun photo ops and ways to be playful.
